Chautauqua, Flatirons views and historic charm

Quiet streets, landmark park, and some of Boulder's best views.

Welcome

Chautauqua sits at the foot of the Flatirons and shares its name with the Colorado Chautauqua, an adult education camp in continuous operation since 1898. Around Chautauqua Park you will find Victorian-era homes and luxurious contemporary houses on larger lots, often with the Flatirons views people move to Boulder for. It is one of the most peaceful pockets in town, with open space as the backyard.

What to Love

  • Flatirons and mountain views
  • Historic and contemporary homes
  • Miles of trails and open space
  • Events at Chautauqua Auditorium

People & Lifestyle

Outdoors is the lifestyle here: Chautauqua Park, trails into meadows and canyons, and a calmer feel than Downtown. Buyers who want privacy plus trail access without leaving Boulder city limits often land here.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Chautauqua Dining Hall (farm-to-table, strong brunch, wraparound porch with mountain views) has been part of the campus since 1898. The General Store covers trail-day essentials, snacks, and ice cream. Nearby Base-Mar has restaurants, shops, and yoga.

Things to Do

Chautauqua Park: tennis, playground, trailheads to the Flatirons, and a Ranger Cottage for trail and wildlife info. Chautauqua Auditorium ("the barn") has hosted concerts and lectures since 1898, known for its wooden acoustics and a history that includes major speakers and musicians.
